No Surgery!
This is LONG overdue... but... here goes!
Last Thursday night we traveled down to Columbia in preparation for Adalyn's Cochlear Implant surgery.
The next morning we arose EARLY... were checked in by 5:45am. We met the nurses, answered A LOT of questions, met the whole Anesthesia team and then her ENT came in. Last thing, after signing papers and talking about all the risks and the procedure again, he checked her ears.
Being my slightly sarcastic self, I said to Adalyn "now, Adalyn, this would be a bad time to have an ear infection". Sure enough, she did!
An ear infection even in the other ear from the surgery site has some EXTREME risks, so we cancelled surgery. Reset for sometime in July after we return from our trip to Utah. All that emotional buildup left me feeling a little down... but thanks to Talon and some great visiting teachers- I bounced back fast! :D
