We are blessed!

I was just reading blogs. Something, I hate to admit I do quite regularly. 
And I kept thinking-wow! We are so lucky. all. of. us!

We are lucky to have the opportunity to attend school and learn, wherever that might be. Public. Private. Home. 
We are lucky to be involved in extracurriculars. Theater. Dance. Soccer. Ski Club. FBLA. Yearbook. Student Government. MUSIC. 
We are lucky to have facebook, blogs, e-mail, news media that is so up to date you can't seem to stay on top of which GOP nominee is ahead and by how much in what state. 
We are lucky to have technology at the touch of our fingertips.
We are lucky to have phones! 
We are lucky to have a car or two or (if you're my father) three... just for yourself. :D 
We are lucky to have warm clothes and homes.
We are lucky to have books to read and music to listen to.
I am lucky to have propel zero to make my water so delicious! 
We are lucky to have laundry washing and drying machines.
We have cutting edge technology and healthcare.
We. are. so. lucky.

I am so grateful for the vast amount of choices we have to make everyday about how we will use our time. Yes, it is difficult and I waste WAY more time than I ought to, but I can choose. I don't have to work in a field for someone else. I don't have to scavenge and hunt for food. I don't have to do whatever job my government has dictated I am best suited for. I CAN CHOOSE. 

and although I find myself complaining at times, I feel grateful for where I am and who I am. 

I love Europe as much as the next guy. It. is. awesome. BUT- We have freedom. Sure it may mean you get a lot of crazies... but it means you have wonderful things all around you too. 

I am grateful for the opportunity to choose who I am now and who I want to become and to let the Spirit guide me. 

I am grateful for the CHOICE.

Hello Family and Friends! If you haven't heard yet, our little baby girl Adalyn was born Tuesday, March 15th at about 2pm. She was born by emergency C-section (they knocked Nicole all the way out because there wasn't time for anything else) and was under a lot of distress. After a wonderful blessing from her Grandpa Hicken and Daddy she was life flighted to McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden. She is still in the NICU there but is making great strides each and every day.  Her mommy and daddy named her Adalyn Julene Anderson-- after her great grandma Anderson (Julene). She has already blessed their lives immensely and she has benefited so much from prayers and fasts of family and friends. She has a long road ahead of her, but she is a fighter! Her grandpa Hicken calls her his little Millie- because she is a miracle baby and in Spanish, miracle is Milagro. She is a miracle and we are so happy to have her.  Love you all!

Delivery Day

Well folks- it's D-Day! After talking some more and discussing with us- our doctors (a team of OBs and Perinatologists) have decided that it is best for baby boy not to have any risks with the placenta and come today. So- He's going to be very early- they will have completed the steroids though, so that is helpful. But we all feel that this is the very best thing for HIM. I'll have a c-section- hopefully regular this time- this afternoon and we will have a baby boy by this evening. He will go straight to the NICU and we'll just see how he does to know more about how long he will be there. Again, thank you all for your comments, prayers, texts, phone calls. We appreciate all of you and your love and support for us! Love you all- remember we are in His hands. And who's better to be in.
